2010

It's hard to imagine we have reached the year 2010. Time flies. For most of my life the year was called 19...something. Life is one thing we all desire more of. Some live an abundant life in a short span of time - others live many, many years, but have little life during those years.

It a real shame to waste a life. It's a gift from God. Life is something that no one wants to end and everyone wants more of...living gets to be a habit, sorta like breathing! Yet we waste much of our life.

Some people waste their life by worrying about things that never happen. No doubt we would be ashamed if we could recall the hours of our life spent in anger, unforgiveness, fear,  unbelief in God, criticism, and worry...let's be honest, that's all wasted energy.

Albert Schweitzer said: There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats. Personally, I believe the only two means of refuge from the misery of life is: God and God.

They say that in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years. Agatha Christie said: I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing.

It is a grand thing to be alive. Since we are limited as to years, we should make them count. If you haven't really been living, why not start now? Be blessed in 2010.

The New Year

It's that time again. Time to ring the old year out and the new year in. Here's an appropriate quote for the hour: We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day. ~Edith Lovejoy Pierce

Blank pages. Something will be written on the pages of our life. Perhaps we can control the content with just a little more focus and effort on our day. What if we did some things on purpose! Such as: start a journal - tell a joke - compliment one person a day - laugh at least once...well, you can create your own content...and you can fill in the blank pages.

But don't forget that we have a helper sent by God. We have the Holy Spirit. If we listen to His promptings our blank pages can be filled with productivity for the Kingdom of God. Then we will be happy with the book we composed for 2010. Happy New Year!
